HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY MC3!!

We hit our one year mark this Tuesday January 3rd. We have been serving the Monroe Circle Community faithfully for 1 year. We have grown quite stedily over the last year and we still have not even hit every one in Monroe! It has been an amazing first year. We look forward to many new renovations this year and hope to add many new programs as well. Thank you to each and every person who has helped to make MC3 such a huge success and thank you Jesus for blessing us and our guests with your love and faithfullness. Posted by Picasa

A NEW FOUND PURPOSE

Merri,

I had a great time today. Watching the interaction of the people and the prayer team really touched me.

Vicki and Tom were absolutely amazing with the people. As always GCC went all out and provided the WOW factor.

My whole day was made when after 11:00 when we were shutting down I was given a piece of paper from one other tower residents telling me of a resident that needed food and could not get out. I took our last box of food and milk back to the tower and up to the 4th floor. I hesitated to knock and debated on leaving it by the door. I decided to knock to be sure this person got the needed food. Inside was a woman who apparently was ill or healing from an injury. Around the corner peeked the cutest little girl. They both thanked me and were very happy they did not miss out. I left feeling a lot warmer inside.

It really feels good to help people on the front lines and puts things in to perspective seeing how needy and thankful these people are. I am not sure what was better seeing how thankful the people were or how genuine all the volunteers were.

I look forward to working with you guys in the future.

Please do not hesitate to ask for anything. I love to work hard and get involved. I will help in any way I can and will not think twice doing the things other do not want to do.

I work at Trans Tech Electric and could probably get some things to help with the fixing up such as light fixtures, wire, exit signs, etc... let me know.

If you guys need a hand working on the place between now and April 5th let me know.

Sincerely,

A person with a new found purpose.

Story To Share!

Sara, a young woman who has been coming to Mc3 and has been sitting alone at a table by the wall. She was withdrawn and would barely acknowledge your presence. Last month she opened up a little, but Vicki still felt she wasn't ready. Then God said a little later to Vicki, "Go and ask Sara if you can sit at her table." Vicki did and she said yes! She asked Sara what she would be doing later that day and Sara sadi she wanted to go to the library, so they talked about reading books and learning, finding out they shared that love. They talked for quite awhile and Sara really shared. Sara loves the Lord and tries to help show it to her own environment. One way, she helps pick up trash, etc around the building where she lives in and and when residents ask her why she is doing that and that it didn't make a difference, Sara said everything makes a difference and everybody can do their part. Sara has some very deep hurting issues and has trust issues, so thank God for the opportunity to share time with her in His love. -- written by our prayer warrior Vicki Young.

DELIVERY DAY!

I would like to introduce our new Inventory Team Leader...Shannon Papp (see pic below).
Shannon was formally our Admin Team sub-leader. Due to unforseen circumstances, our Inventory Team Leader Michelle asked to step down. Michelle, your time with MC3 was great. Thank you for your servants heart and for everything you did for MC3! We will miss you!

Welcome to Shannon who stepped up and took on this enormous role for us. She started off with a bang! She jumped in and rallied about 18-20 people to unload our VERY large delivery from FTC. 400 boxes+ loads of misc. items. It took a record breaking 30 minutes to unload the truck! They were cranking them out of the truck, down the rollers and then placing them in the store room! I was amazed! Well done team!

Last Tuesday we served 220 guests at MC3. It seems we are climbing in numbers from week to week. Isn't God good!

MC3 ROCKS AGAIN!

We served another wonderful 217 guests this past Tuesday! It is amazing to me every time we are there we are witness to the lives that get touched, the hearts that get mended, the empty bellies that get full, and the frowns that turn into smiles. You walk in and you can just sense the love and the presence of God in the air. We had one of our guests also step up and she is taking in some victims from Hurricane Katrina into her home. It is awesome to see how even though she is in need, she feels the call of Jesus to help out her fellow brothers and sisters. Community, love, faith, kindness, generosity, this is what you will find when you walk through the doors of MC3!

" God of Justice"...by Tim Hughes
God of Justice, Savior to all
Came to rescue the weak and the poor
Chose to serve and not be served
Jesus, you have called us
Freely we've received
Now freely we will give
We must go live to feed the hungry
Stand beside the broken
We must go
Stepping forward keep us from just singing
Move us into action
We must go
To act justly everyday
Loving mercy in everyway
Walking humbly before you God
You have shown us, what You require
Fill us up and send us out Lord
We must go!
That song says it all! We must go feed the hungry and stand beside the broken. That is what we do at MC3 with the help of many! Last night we had a HUGE shipment from Feed The Children. 450 food boxes, pallets of carrotts, cereal, mac & cheese, cookies and juice! Believe it or not, that will probably last through maybe 1 month of serving to our community. We really never know who will come walking through our doors on Tuesday mornings or how many! But we are always prepared and waiting with loving arms!
If by chance you are reading this and are not a volunteer at MC3 but would like to be, please let us know! We would love to have you come and be a part of our team!
